Catalytic converter thefts in East Leicester

Alert message sent 18/05/2022 13:33:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Dear Neighbourhood Link member,

The East area has had an increase of thefts of catalytic converters from cars recently and mainly from the Toyota brand. These thefts have been in the early hours of the morning.

We are asking residents that if you are woken up in the middle of the night and see some suspicious activity on your street with persons jacking up and can and taking the cat, trying car door handles or searching through cars then please call 999 at the time with information about the activity such as persons/vehicles involved.

You can provide extra security to your catalytic converter by security marking it or installing a cat cage over it. Please have a look online for details and suppliers of these.

Please share the message amongst your family and friends on the East area so we can all report crime together.

Thank you

East Leicester Police
