Serious assault - Barnstaple

Police investigating a serious assault in Barnstaple are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Officers received reports of an assault in the Woodland Close area of Whiddon Valley, Barnstaple, between 10pm and midnight, on Tuesday 10 May.
A man in his 40s sustained serious facial injuries and an ankle injury, all of which required hospital treatment.
A 43-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, both from Torrington, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remain in police custody.
