Burglaries In Your Area

Alert message sent 11/05/2022 20:20:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Hi everyone,

West Midlands Police have noticed a rise in burglaries in your area. Offenders are targeting sheds and outbuildings to steal valuable tools and other items such as bikes and lead flashing.

Burglars are very observant and opportunistic; they often look for homes with windows or doors left open or with vulnerable features that they can exploit.

Sheds and garages are often vulnerable as they are not very secure and contain tools with which the burglar can use to assist them to gain entry into a home.

There's lots you can do to deter burglars from targetting your home.
Consider tall fencing to the sides of your property, and trim back bushes and hedges so there's no hiding places. Ensure that garages and sheds are locked. Automatic security floodlights can deter offenders and CCTV can alert you if someone is in your garden.

Halesowen NHT are conducting high visibility patrols in the area, but if you see anything that doesn't look right please call 101 or 999 in an emergency.

You can access the WMP website to read more about crime prevention in the home at www.west-midlands.police.uk
