Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Dear Resident And Local Businesses,

This week the Impact Team covering Bell Green and Wood End have been doing weapons sweeps of all the known crime and anti-social behaviour hot spots. We have also carried out stops and searches of people and vehicles suspected to be carrying weapons and/or drugs. On a few occasions drugs were found and seized.
Any person found to have drugs in their possession or in their vehicle, was issued with a Cranstoun Warning, which is a rehabilitation referral to help them overcome their drug habit. Failure to comply with this could lead to them being arrested and will not be offered the referral in future, if they are found to be in possession of drugs again, they will be arrested.

One vehicle was seized for having no insurance. The driver was reported to court and faces up to six penalty points on their driving licence as well as a fine. They will also face costs of having their vehicle impounded. They will need to provide proof that they have taken out insurance for the vehicle before they can collect it, as the vehicle will not be released from the compound without full documentation.

We are continuing to liaise with Social Housing Landlords to keep them informed of any tenants who are involved in crime or anti-social behaviour. This has already resulted in some offenders being evicted from their homes over recent months.

Our PCSOs have also been delivering surveys to residents homes in the area, to find out your thoughts on policing in this area. The survey comes in a prepaid envelope, so no stamp will be required if you wish to complete the survey and return it to us.

If you have information about crime that you want to tell us about, you can call us on 101 or use the live web chat https://west-midlands.police.uk › contact-us › live-chat . If you prefer to give information anonymously, you can contact CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555111.

Kind Regards,

North East Coventry Impact Team.
