Ecclesfield Chapeltown High Green and Grenoside NPT

Alert message sent 25/03/2022 08:45:00

Information sent on behalf of South Yorkshire Police

Yesterday the Chapeltown/Ecclesfield/High Green/Grenoside NPT and Wincobank/Firth Park/Shiregreen NPT joined forces with SYP Off Road Team South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership and SYP Special Constables to spend the day focused on road safety.
One of the big issues the public tell us about is speeding and illegal/anti social use of vehicles so we spent the day with the sole focus of addressing these issues across the areas.
We spent the day looking at Speeding, vehicle safety and condition and illegal use of vehicles.
We were supported by Our dedicated off road bike team who patrolled on and off road to ensure that any illegal vehicle use, in particular bikes were dealt with.
Over the course of the day we worked in all areas of Chapeltown, Ecclesfield, High Green, Grenoside, Wincobank, Firth Park and Shiregreen.
We will always look to advice and educate rather than prosecute and that goes for our colleagues from the Safety Camera Partnership.
Over the course of the day 118 offences were identified which were dealt with either by advice, educational courses, or a fixed penalty notice as well as a stop and search resulting in a seizure of cannabis where the offender will be summons to court.
Remember we can’t be everywhere, but could be anywhere.
And no…..money from and fines doesn’t not fund the Christmas Party nor are we given targets.
