Hourglass 24 Hour Helpline

Alert message sent 23/03/2022 10:59:00

Information sent on behalf of Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner

Hourglass - 24 Hour Helpline
One in six older people are victims of abuse. That’s over 16% of our mothers, fathers, uncles, aunties, grannies, grandads, friends and neighbours.

Hourglass is the UK’s only charity focused on the abuse and neglect of older people, we staff a
free-to-call helpline. It’s an absolute lifeline for older men, women and their families suffering from the five forms of abuse: physical, psychological, financial, sexual or neglect.

The Hourglass mission is simple: end the harm, abuse and exploitation of older people in the UK.

Hourglass have just released a new 24/7 Helpline, free for people to use.

They also offer a range of services which can be found online on their page - https://wearehourglass.org/

The helpline is entirely confidential and free to call from a landline or mobile, and the number will not appear on your phone bill. Texts from outside the UK will be charged at their standard international rate which will differ depending on location and service charges of your phone provider. The number will appear on your bill and in your phone records but will not be identified as Hourglass. The helpline and chatbot are available 24/7.

All other services are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
