Nottingham Knockers in the Bishopstrow area of Warminster

Alert message sent 24/02/2022 17:48:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

PCSO 9469, from the local neighbourhood policing team in Warminster is urging residents of Bishopstrow and surrounding villages to be wary of 'Nottingham Knockers' after confirmed reports that they've been operating in the area today.
'Nottingham Knocking' is a scam where individuals sell items from door to door at inflated prices, being transported together into an area by their employers. It can also be used as an opportunity to scout homes for potential burglaries.
"Should doorstep salespeople become aggressive and refuse to leave, please phone us immediately on 999. If it is non-urgent and you wish to inform us of the incident, please call on 101."
