Burglary Update to 14th Jan


Berkhampstead School, Pittville Circus Road, between 8.30am & 10.45am  10th Jan a purse was stolen from handbag in staff locker room. Owner received a call allegedly from the Police stating that someone had been arrested using their bank card and was it stolen. When the handbag was checked the theft was discovered. Owner was asked for their P.I.N. number to return the stolen money which was given. Subsequently further amounts were stolen from the account before it could be closed. The call from the alleged Police Officer was fraudulent in order to obtain the P.I.N. number. Further enqs. being made. Inc. 152 10-01-2022 Fairview

Marle Hill Road, between 11.30pm – 12mn 13th Jan entry was gained to a house via an insecure ground floor window whilst owner was asleep upstairs. The dog started barking and when owner checked found the window open as was the front door. Nothing missing, believed the offender was scared off by the dog. Inc. 336  13-01-2022 St Pauls

Aldridge Close, between 3am & 5pm 13th Jan an insecure and empty house was entered and searched through with medication and paperwork being stolen. Inc. 465 13-01-2022     St Pauls

Somerset Avenue, reported at 7am 14th Jan that since 10pm 13th Jan entry had been gained to a house via an insecure rear door with car keys to vehicle on drive stolen as was the vehicle a Silver Vauxhall Corsa. At 8.15am 14th Jan the vehicle was seen by a witness in Gloucester Road by the railway station and is still outstanding. Inc. 59 14-01-2022 St Marks

Always lock all doors and windows when you leave your house or retire to bed.

Please remember that the Police or your bank will NEVER ask you to provide you P. I. N. numbers under any circumstances.

Car keys are valuable items and should be kept secured and out of sight when not in use.
