Community Speedwatch

Alert message sent 20/12/2021 13:09:00

Information sent on behalf of Devon and Cornwall Police

Community Speed Watch is an educational scheme to help people reduce speeding traffic though their community. The scheme enables volunteers to work within their community to raise awareness of the dangers of speeding and to help control the problem locally.
Community Speed Watch incorporates poster campaigns and a pledge system linked to direct action using speed detection equipment all under the supervision of the Police. The use of the radar devices will not lead to prosecution – drivers will get a letter from the police instead – but will help to underline the community’s commitment to reducing speed.

If anyone within the Looe, Polperro, Polruan, Pelynt, Lanreath, Duloe and Widegates area is interested in finding out more information regarding what can be done to reduce vehicle speeding then please contact  PCSO Steve Cocks at Looe Police Station.

or Looe Police Station through the Devon and Cornwall Police Website
