Major gas replacement works in the Erskine Road area of Gullane

Alert message sent 15/11/2021 17:26:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

The following Alert is being circulated on behalf of SGN

We'll shortly begin work to upgrade our gas network in the Erskine Road, area of Gullane.

This work involves replacing our metallic gas mains with new plastic pipe, ensuring a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the local community for many years to come.

We've planned our work in close consultation with the local authorities to reduce disruption as much as possible. Our project will begin on Monday 29 November and will be carried out by our contractor George Ritchie, Utilities on our behalf and will take approximately 12 weeks to complete.

During this project we will be required to implement some local road closures to allow safe access to our pipes. These will be carried out on a phased basis; local diversion routes will be in operation during this time.

• Hopetoun Terrace junction with Erskine Road
• Erskine Road – full street (in phases)
• Muirfield Park junction with Main Street

The suspension of parking will also be required throughout our works. Access to driveways will always be maintained where possible. Should this change we will speak with the occupier.

Temporary traffic signals will also be in use when working on the Main Street, these may cause delays during busy peak periods.

Emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout our works.

This project will be temporarily suspended during the Christmas holidays and will start back up again in early January.

We have extra safety precautions in place to protect our colleagues and our communities from the virus. Our colleagues will be keeping to social distancing guidelines on our sites and we’d ask communities to keep their distance too. There’s more information about our coronavirus response on our website: sgn.co.uk/coronavirus

We’re writing to residents and other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work. Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project.

If you have any specific enquiries about this project, please call us on 0800 912 1700 and our customer experience team will be happy to help.

We'll be working as quickly as possible to complete our work, and will be making every effort to minimise inconvenience to the local community.

Thank you for your support during these challenging times and if there’s anything else you need please let me know.
