Information sent on behalf of Dorset Alert

Enjoy bonfire night safely and legally
The safest way to enjoy Bonfire Night is to attend a professionally organised event. If you hold a display at home, be safe – stand back, never return to a lit firework, wear gloves when handling sparklers and respect others.

Remember there are laws around buying, carrying and possessing fireworks
It’s illegal for someone under 18 to buy or possess fireworks
It’s illegal to use fireworks in public unless part of an approved public display
If you’re suspected to be in possession of fireworks illegally you may be searched
