Training exercise for all emergency services in your area tonight

Alert message sent 16/10/2021 14:48:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

West Midlands Police and partner emergency services will be taking part in a training exercise in your area tonight (Saturday 16 October).

Please do not be alarmed, exercises like this are regularly held throughout the country to test our response to a major incident.

There is nothing to worry about but you may see and hear extra activity in the area. This could include disorder and loud noises, for example from sirens, shouting and loud bangs.

We have made every effort to keep disruption to a minimum, any roads or parking restrictions will be clearly signposted near to the exercise site.

We may or may not use drones as part of the exercise but please be assured, if they are used they will be capturing footage solely from the exercise and will not encroach on your privacy at any time.

Members of the public will not be involved and exercise areas will be tightly controlled.

It will be business as usual for your local police and partners, and you will still receive the same level of service.

The training exercise will begin in the evening and could last until the early hours of the morning. We apologise for any nuisance that may be caused by noise during the early hours.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and we apologise again for any inconvenience caused.
