Alert message sent 22/09/2021 10:35:00

Information sent on behalf of Dorset Alert

Wednesday the 22nd of September 2021

Good morning,
I hope that you are continuing to keep safe and well.  I have details of a crime committed in your area.

Occurrence Number:  55210152820 Distraction Theft
Location:  Links Road
Time:  Between 12.30 p.m. and 1.00 p.m. on Tuesday the 21st of September 2021
Detail:  Two females described as being in their late 20's and driving a small white car waved at a man aged in his 80's in his garden to gain his attention.  The females had a clip board and approached the man asking him to sign a petition.  After he had signed the petition, one of the females thanked him and lent forward giving him a hug.  While the man was mindful that he had his wallet in his back pocket he did not notice until a few minutes later that the female had stolen his Rolex watch from his wrist.  It is believed that these females are responsible for a series of similar thefts across Dorset this year and the public should be mindful of being approached in this manner or engaging in conversation with the individuals.

If you saw or heard anything suspicious or have any information please call Dorset Police on 101 or ask.NED or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting the relevant occurrence number.

Thank you.
