Alert message sent 14/09/2021 17:11:00

Information sent on behalf of Cambridgeshire Constabulary

Thank you to those of you who came down to see us in Ely yesterday for the Project Edward event.

We had a great turnout and thankfully the weather was on our side.

As part of the event, our Neighbourhood Safer Speeds Team carried out speed checks throughout Ely.

More than 50 vehicles were stopped and checked on the day, 78 speed offences were detected by speed camera vans, and 12 traffic offence reports were issued for the following:

- Driving through a no entry
- Driving without a licence (car also seized)
- Six vehicles were caught speeding
- Four drivers weren’t wearing seatbelts

Our Volunteer Community Speedwatch Teams were also out in force in Ely, Sutton, Wilburton and Littleport.
