Alert message sent 10/09/2021 12:30:00

Information sent on behalf of Cambridgeshire Constabulary

Join us in Market Square Ely on Monday as we take part in a national road safety day.

In support of Project Edward (Every Day Without A Death), the county’s Vision Zero Partnership are delivering a ‘surround a town’ event in Ely working with partners to promote road safety from all angles.

We will be joined on the day by Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, OWL bikes, Cambridgeshire County Council, Road Victims Trust, British Horse Society and Cambridgeshire County Council Road Safety Education Team.

Visitors can expect to find:
- E-scooter advice
- Police crash car
- Fire Engine and cycle mats
- Fire and Rescue motorbike
- Outspoken cycling activities
- Cycle-powered smoothie maker and game
- Free tyre and child car seat checks at Sainsbury’s in Lisle Lane

We will also be holding road safety sessions at local schools and our Neighbourhood Safer Speed Team will be coming to a road near you to carry out speed and child car seat checks.

Here’s a glimpse of what it’s like for someone’s life to be taken away from them due to a tragic accident: https://bit.ly/3tt286D

We look forward to seeing you at what is going to be a great event!

Kind regards,
Policing East Cambridgeshire
