Temporary Camera - Bordesley Green

Alert message sent 06/09/2021 18:25:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Dear Citizen

CONSULTATION: TEMPORARY CAMERA

Birmingham Community Safety Partnership (BCSP) is proposing to install a temporary CCTV camera at the entrance to the alleyway between McDonalds and Subway, Bordesley Green at the island with Belchers Lane and Bordesley Green East, Birmingham. The enclosed map provides further information about the proposed location indicated by the red star.

West Midlands Police have requested the camera in response to crime and anti-social behaviour in this area.  The CCTV camera is a part of a series of measures West Midlands Police and partners have put in place to address these issues.

If this camera deployment is approved, it will be in situ for a minimum of 12 weeks.  The camera may be installed for longer than 12 weeks, however this will be subject to further evidence of crime and anti-social behaviour and where we can demonstrate the camera is making a difference.

We are inviting comments about the installation of this temporary camera from residents and businesses in the vicinity.  All comments should be sent to our email address: cspenquiries@birmingham.gov.uk by 16th September 2021.

Yours sincerely
Chris Hamilton
