Calderdale Lower Valley Residential Burglary and Vehicle Crime Report

Calderdale Lower Valley covers the wards of:
Brighouse, Elland, Greetland&Stainland, Hipperholme&Lightcliffe, Northowram&Shelf and Rastrick

For the week 16 to 22 August

Burglary Residential – 5
Theft from motor vehicle – 14
Theft of motor vehicle - 2

Burglary Residential
House entered after a door is forced and patio door smashed, search carried out and property taken including jewellery and cash (Northowram).
House entered after a door is forced.  Search carried out but unknown what or if anything has been taken (Northowram).
Attempt made to gain entry to house by using bodily force on door. No entry gained (late report from March) (Brighouse).
House entered via open window.  Search made and property taken. 35-year-old female has been arrested and charged (Brighouse)
Outbuilding entered after padlock securing same is cut. M2R Pit bike is taken.

Theft from motor vehicle/Vehicle Interference

7 offences committed in Brighouse Ward
Vehicle entered by unknown means (no damage) but nothing taken (late report from March)
Grove Street – seal removed on door of container. Entry gained but nothing taken.
Highmoor Lane -  curtain side cut but nothing taken, and 3 vehicles entered, and goods taken
Towngate Avenue – window smashed on vehicle, entry gained but nothing taken.

3 offences committed Elland Ward
Lindley Moor Road – rear door lock forced on one vehicle, but no entry gained, and window smashed on 2nd vehicle, entry gained, and property taken.
South Lane – Catalytic converter removed from Honda Jazz.

2 offences committed in Greetland Ward
High Street – catalytic converter removed from Toyota Auris
Saddleworth Road – catalytic converter removed VW Golf

1 offence committed in Northworth&Shelf Ward
Park Square – window smashed on vehicle. Entry gained, boot opened, and property taken.

1 offence committed in Rastrick Ward
Bramston Gardens – ring doorbell activation alerts householders who looks out of window and sees unknown figure trying door handle of vehicle parked on driveway. Suspect made off without gaining entry.

Theft of motor vehicle

2 offences in Brighouse

Rayner Drive – Ford Transit Van taken by unknown means (believed electronically compromised
Elland Road -  Honda Fry taken believed taken away on the back of a truck.

Increase in crime is never a pleasant thing for me to report but, your local Neighbourhood Team, supported by patrol officers, will be out conducting reassurance patrols over the coming weeks so you may see an increase in police activity
