Witness appeal following sexual assault in Felbridge

We are appealing for witness following a sexual assault that occurred in the woodland near Mill Lane, Felbridge, on Wednesday, 21 July, at around 7pm.

The victims, two teenage girls, were led into the woodland by two young men and sexually assaulted. The suspects then fled the scene.

The first suspect is described as being in his late teens, white, around 5ft 9 and of slim build. He has light brown beard and hair. He also is described as having an upper arm tattoo of a cross with rosary beads and the name ‘Tammy’. The suspect was wearing a grey t-shirt and shorts and blue and white trainers.

The second suspect is described as also being in his late teens, white, around 5ft 8 and of a slightly heavier build. He has dark brown slicked back hair, a sleeve tattoo on his right arm and a rose tattoo on his left hand. The suspect was wearing blue McKenzie swim shorts, a t-shirt and black Nike trainers.

Tandridge Borough Commander, Detective Inspector Karen Hughes, said: “We are taking this occurrence very seriously and would like to reassure the public that this appears to be an isolated incident. We are also aware of ongoing anti-social behaviour in this particular area and understand that the local community are rightly concerned. We are working hard to tackle these issues and have increased patrols and police visibility in the area.”
