Drugs gang who flooded Derby with cocaine jailed for more than two decades

A drugs gang who flooded Derby with cocaine have been jailed for more than 20 years.

Mickleover-based dealer Daniel Gibbons sourced the high-purity cocaine from Nottingham supplier Daniel Yeboah.

Gibbons would send a courier to Nottingham to meet Yeboah’s right-hand man, Kevin Machin, and would return with cocaine, as well as heroin, to supply a web of street dealers in Derby.

Following investigations by officers from Derbyshire police, a number of arrests were made in both Derby and Nottingham during coordinated raids in June 2020.

Appearing at Derby Crown Court on 29 June, the four were jailed for a combined total of more than 20 years in prison:

Yeboah, 38, of Violet Road, Carlton, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply heroin and cocaine – jailed for nine years.

Gibbons, 32, of Merlin Way, Derby, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine - jailed for six years.

Machin, 43, of Hilcote Drive, Aspley, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to to conspiracy to supply heroin and cocaine - jailed for three years and eight months.

Deklan Lawrence, 27, a street dealer for Gibbons, of Hawthorn Street, Derby, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine - jailed for two years.
