Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

Extra police patrols are in place in Chaddesden, Derby, after an 18-year-old boy was assaulted.

The force was called to a report that a teenager had been assaulted in Wood Road, close to the One Stop shop, at around 8.30pm yesterday (26 June).

The 18-year-old was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Chief Inspector Ranjit Dol, said: “A team of detectives are currently carrying out an investigation into the circumstances of this incident and, while enquiries are ongoing at this time, this is believed to be an isolated occurrence.

“However, we know that the local community is understandably shocked and there is a plan in place, which includes high-visibility patrols across the area.

“I would also urge anyone with information about the incident to contact the force, in confidence, with any details that may be able to help the investigation.

“You can do this in person with any of the officers out on patrol, at the mobile police station close to the scene or by using any of the below methods.”
