The Units are giving the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine to anyone 18 or over who is eligible. The Pfizer vaccine is effective against the new Delta variant, and we have cases of this in Pendle.
Am I eligible for the vaccine?
You are eligible for the vaccine if you are:
• 18 or over and have an underlying health condition, or look after or live with someone with a health condition
• 30 or over
If you're not sure if you're eligible, just visit the Mobile Unit and talk to the staff. They will be able to advise you.
COVID-Vaccination Scams
Some people are reporting that they are receiving phone calls offering vaccine appointments for a cost, or text messages directing people to a convincing fake NHS website with a booking link.
The COVID-19 vaccine will always be free in the UK and delivered by the NHS. You will be contacted by the NHS call/recall service telling you when you are eligible.
Anyone offering you a real NHS COVID-19 vaccination booking will never:
• ask you for payment or any bank details
• ask you to press a button on your keypad when on the phone
• ask you to send a text to confirm the booking
Anyone who has concerns about whether an approach is genuine should speak to their local GP surgery.
