SGN gas network upgrade in the Dundyvan Road area of Coatbridge

Alert message sent 23/02/2021 15:32:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

The following information is being circulated on behalf of SGN

As you know, we’ve been working to upgrade our gas network in Coatbridge.

I’m writing to let you know we’re starting work on 1 March in Dundyvan Road between the Bank Social Club (opposite side) and Luggieburn Walk. Our work will last approximately three weeks.  To ensure everyone’s safety, we’ll install temporary three-way traffic lights at the junction of Dundyvan Road and Luggieburn Walk. We’ll be working weekends where possible, to minimise disruption.

We have agreed with North Lanarkshire Council to carry out this necessary work during the lockdown to minimise disruption to the local community. We shouldn’t need to interrupt gas supplies to homes or businesses, and our engineers won’t be calling at residents’ home.

We know that during the coronavirus outbreak, our communities will rely on us now more than ever to keep them safe and warm. The safety of our communities and our employees will remain our number one priority in the weeks and months ahead.

Our safety-critical project to upgrade the gas network needs to go ahead now, rather than wait until the pandemic passes, to ensure your local community continues to receive a safe and reliable gas supply. We’re working closely with Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our project in line with all current coronavirus safety guidance.

We have extra safety precautions in place to protect our colleagues and our communities from the virus. Our colleagues will be keeping to social distancing guidelines on our sites and we’d ask communities to keep their distance too. There’s more information about our coronavirus response on our website: sgn.co.uk/coronavirus

We’re writing to residents and other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work. Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project.

If you have any other enquiries about this project, please call project manager David Black on 07773 545 328 during office hours (8am to 4.30pm) or Customer Service on 0800 912 1700 outside these times.

Thank you in advance for your support.
