Weather Warning

The Met Office have issued AMBER warnings for rain from 12:00 today Tuesday 23 February  to 12:00 on Wednesday 24 February for parts of Dumfries & Galloway and western Borders, and Stirlingshire and Perthshire. These warnings follow on from the impact of rain and snowmelt over the past week or so, therefore potential issues include the following.

Homes and businesses are likely to be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.
Fast flowing or deep floodwater is likely, causing danger to life.
A good chance that some communities will be cut off by flooded roads.
Delays and cancellations to train and bus services are likely.
Spray and flooding leading to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

It is also important to note that there are other current YELLOW warnings for rain and wind covering parts of Scotland which also present the possibility for disruption.

The above warnings can be viewed on the Met Office website https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2021-02-23&id=e61d1892-f5e2-4305-86c0-209d440e87b6
