Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

The following information is being circulated on behalf of Police Scotland

During the early hours of Sunday 21st February 2021, there were 2 incidents involving suspect persons in Sandbank, Dunoon.

The first was around 0035hrs near HeronLea, High Road, Sandbank were someone was seen via CCTV with a torch who may have gained access to a garage, however nothing was stolen.

The next incident occurred at Dalinlonghart about 0315hrs on this same date, were 3 people were seen on CCTV with torches. Again entry was gained to a garage, however nothing was stolen.

Often thieves will check an area before committing any thefts and will look at security, lighting, accessibility. This is often the case where they are looking at larger items to steal such as farming machinery, quad bikes etc., as they will check the area on foot and return at a later date with a vehicle for removal.

During both of these occasions, CCTV has captured the individuals and Police Scotland will be providing extra attention in the area for any further sightings.

Please ensure your property is secure using CCTV, signage and ideally security lighting making your property a harder target for criminals.

If you have any information please either contact Crimestoppers Anonymously on 0800 555111 or contact Dunoon Police Station quoting incident number 1152 of 22/2/21.
