Change of area for Proactive Burglary Operation Wed 9th December - Now Frimley and Camberley - not Bagshot

Alert message sent 02/12/2020 16:20:00

Information sent on behalf of Surrey Police

Dear Surrey Heath Neighbourhood Watch members.

If you have seen the previous message regards the 9th December operation then please ignore/delete that as we have just been informed that there has been a shift in the location of the operation.

Following on from the successful series of proactive anti-burglary operations in and around Bagshot and Lightwater, the Surrey Heath Neighbourhood police team are again asking whether Watch members would like to volunteer some of their time during the coming operation on Wednesday 9th December.

On this date the emphasis of the operation will change and will move from the Bagshot area to the Frimley and Camberley area (as this area has been targeted by burglars more heavily over recent weeks).

At the current time of writing, due to the change of area, information regards the exact times of the Op and location of the briefing are not yet available but will be advised to volunteers as soon as we know.  However we expect the operation to follow the same general principles of those before and hence will include a briefing on background information, the giving out of maps and letters, things to watch for and importantly the contact number that can be used to call the officers directly if you spot something during the operation.

So if you are interested/willing to get involved then please contact Mike Potter (Surrey Heath Neighbourhood Watch Six Villages Area Coordinator) and register that you will be attending, letting him know what times (and as applicable any particular areas you can only cover) you are able to assist with, at MPotter@SurreyHeathNW.co.uk

We ask that people do register in advance so the police team have an idea of numbers in order to print out any briefing packs, maps, letters to be handed out etc and importantly so that we are able to contact volunteers in advance to update on exact times and locations.

Anyone who kindly turned out for the previous operations are of course more than welcome on this one regardless of the area change.

When you register your interest please provide a mobile phone number that you will be using (again to allow us to contact you during the operation if required).

As always Covid precautions and rules are to be followed so we ask that people stay in their vehicles until the police car arrives at the briefing location, people all wear masks and remain at least 2m apart from others.

Thankyou in advance for any assistance that you may be able to give.
Kind regards
Rob Freeman
