Residential Burglary and other Crime Report 30 November 2020

Dear Surrey Heath members.

Please find below details of the currently reported burglaries (or attempted burglaries) to residential properties (including shed break-ins) as well as other crime statistics over the last period (23 Nov – 30 Nov 2020). Summary details of these are provided in the list below.
Please note, where known I have used the approximate actual incident date/times rather than date the incident was reported (as there can be differences).

  • 30 Nov (15:23). Gloucester Road. Offenders have been disturbed whilst trying the door handles of the rear French doors. Suspects were described as two males wearing dark clothing and no entry was gained.

  • 25 Nov (19:00). Firwood Drive. Entry forced to garage door although nothing stolen.  Two suspected male offenders were challenged by a neighbour and the two suspects ran off.
  • 29 Nov (09:21). Crawley Hill. Damage found to frame of ground floor living room window. No entry gained and damage possibly due to use of crowbar.
  • 30 Nov (15:30). James Road. Suspects have entered through the rear conservatory door by smashing the glass panel of the UPVC door. Low value cash and jewellery taken. Four male suspects and dark grey or black Mercedes seen as being involved.
To provide a further idea of the activities of the Surrey Heath Police team, there were 113 new incidents/occurrences being looked into during this period. A summary of these is given below along with some accompanying notes later;

*Theft/Burglary from builders merchants (Camberley).

**Inc; rider stopped driving an electric scooter on a road with no licence or insurance and was found to be wanted for drugs offence - then provided a positive drug wipe for cocaine and cannabis (Frimley), black Vauxhall Astra stolen from the road outside garage – no signs of break in and keys still at garage (Camberley), male has attempted to gain access to a parked vehicle on a residential driveway (Mytchett), rear number plate stolen from grey Astra estate (Camberley), one of four young males who were at Sainsbury supermarket location opened car door whilst owner distracted with child and took purse and mobile phone from the front passenger seat and then left location (Camberley), attempt made to gain entry to two work vans parked outside property causing damage to one (Bagshot), vehicle had been stolen whilst parked on road and later found abandoned with no plates on the M25 Junction 13 (Camberley),  two vehicles parked on driveway of victim’s home have been entered with a wallet and cash taken from one (Frimley Green).

***Inc; male found in possession of a small quantity of cannabis (Camberley), male stopped and searched under Sec23 MDA whereby was found in possession of a crystal substance believed to be crystal meth (Frimley), car seen to act suspiciously in car park, car was stopped, strong smell of cannabis coming from it, search carried out on occupants and green herbal like substance found in door of the vehicle (Bagshot), suspect stopped on road whilst driving a stolen vehicle containing suspected stolen registration plates, cannabis plants, items for going equipped, weapons and whilst being disqualified driver (Bagshot), male stopped whilst driving and suspected to be under the influence of drugs - drugs wipe positive for cocaine and arrested under suspicion of drug driving (Camberley).

****Vulnerable victims called by solar panel company offering free check, attended property to quote and was felt over quoted for work not needed to be done (Chobham).

*****Two knives found in the suspect's vehicle after arrest for domestic matters (Camberley).

******Inc; failure to pay for all items in shop (Bagshot), bag of clothes left for collection on doorstep taken (Lightwater), theft of items from homeless person’s tent (Camberley), making off without paying at petrol station (Camberley), cement mixer situated on drive stolen (Camberley), theft of bicycle - black Scott mountain bike with disc brakes from garage whilst left open (Frimley Green).
