Willow issues

Alert message sent 21/11/2020 20:43:00

Information sent on behalf of South Yorkshire Police

Over the past few weeks, our attention has been drawn to the Willow Estate in Thorne due to a gang of unruly young people who are creating crime and ASB in the area. As such, we have put a policing plan together to look at the problem. As part of that plan are patrols at key times.

Tonight whilst patrolling the area, officers challenged a gang of teenagers who ran away. Descriptions were passed and some different officers dropped on one of the little lovelies. When the kid refused to give her name, she was warned with arrest. In flies mum to the rescue. Not to chastise her daughter for breaching COVID regs and being cheeky to officers. Instead to shout and swear at the cops who were trying to advise them.

Suffice to say, they were both reported for COVID and public order offences and can expect fines in the post. Social care will be made aware.

I’ve said it in other areas and I’ll say it again. Your children are your responsibility. If we find them committing offences, we’ll take a traditional and pragmatic approach. If that doesn’t work or if it happens again, you will both have to face the music.

Know where your kids are and stay safe in these testing times
