Alert message sent 20/11/2020 08:50:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

This Message is Distributed on Behalf of Scottish Gas Networks

Following government advice back in March, we needed to make changes to our ways of working to protect our colleagues and communities from the spread of coronavirus. As a result, we temporarily paused our network upgrade project in your community.

We’re looking to start work in the Stoneybank area of Musselburgh on Monday the 23 November and will last approximately 21 weeks. This work will be carried out by our contractor George Ritchie, Utilities on our behalf.

During this phase the vast majority of our works are within residential areas and for the duration of the project parking suspensions will be required. Access to driveways will be maintained at all times unless previously agreed with the occupier. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.

To ensure everyone’s safety, we will require temporary signals at the junction of Monktonhall Crescent and Stoneybank Terrace. This phase is scheduled for early 2021.

Our essential work will ensure the local community receives a continued safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come. We’re working closely with Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our project in line with all current coronavirus safety guidance.

We wish to assure you that work will progress as quickly as possible and we will make every effort to minimise any inconvenience caused by our works.

We have extra safety precautions in place to protect our colleagues and our communities while we work. There’s more information about our coronavirus response on our website: sgn.co.uk/coronavirus

We’ve written to residents and other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work. Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project.

If you have any specific enquiries about this project, please call us on 0800 912 1700 and our customer service team will be happy to help.
