Residential Burglary and other Crime Report 16 November 2020

Dear Surrey Heath members.

Please find below details of the currently reported burglaries (or attempted burglaries) to residential properties (including shed break-ins) as well as other crime statistics over the last period (09 Nov – 16 Nov 2020). Summary details of these are provided in the list below.
Please note, where known I have used the approximate actual incident date/times rather than date the incident was reported (as there can be differences).

  • 15 Nov (19:00). Hawthorn Way. Suspect(s) have attempted to force entry to residential property causing damage to rear UPVC french doors but have been disturbed and made off by jumping over a wooden fence.

  • 11 Nov (14:00-21:10). James Road. Occupant of flat has come home to find front door panel had been removed and the porch light also removed. No items have been taken from the property.
  • 15 Nov (20:30). Gilbert Road. Offender(s) have forced entry to the rear of a property (by forcing rear gate, door to a lean-to and then forcing kitchen window) where an untidy search has then been made focusing on bedrooms. At this time unclear if anything taken.
  • 16 Nov (02:30-02:45). Gainsborough Close. Homeowner has disturbed suspect who was attempting to gain entry to property. As the outside light was turned on someone was heard running from the porch down the driveway.

  • 13 Nov (17:00) – 15 Nov (19:45). Durham Drive. Garage has been broken into and untidy search has been conducted and the suspect(s) have taken 4 bikes and other items.

To provide a further idea of the activities of the Surrey Heath Police team, there were 107 new incidents/occurrences being looked into during this period. A summary of these is given below along with some accompanying notes later;

Absconder/AWOL/Wanted (2), ASB Nuisance (1), ASB Personal (1), Assault On Police (1), Burglary Business & Community (1*), Burglary Residential (5),  Child Protection Incident (5), Community Protection Warning (1**), Concern For Safety (1), Coronavirus (12***), Crime Other (8), Crime Public Order (2), Crime Vehicle (8****), Criminal Damage (5), Dispersals (1*****), Domestic Incident (8), Drug Seizure (2******), Drugs (5******), Family File (2), Fraud Being Investigated (1), Fraud Vulnerable Victim (1), Hate/Diversity Incident (1), High Risk Vulnerable Adult Incident (1),  Master Occurrence (1), Missing Person – High Risk (2), Missing Person – Medium Risk (1), Neighbour Dispute (1), Not A Crime (1), Offensive Weapon (1), Pets/Domestic Animals (1), Public Order (2), Robbery (1*******), Sudden Death Non Suspicious (1), Theft (10), Violent Crime Other (1), Violent Domestic (2), Vulnerable Adult Incident (4).

*3 males have forced entry into the post office on Farm Road.  They emptied the cigarette drawers of their contents and left the location in a black Audi estate where they failed to stop for police and eventually evaded officers.

**Male has been, on several occasions, outside an infant school trying to engage with children therein. He has also been stopped on site at another infant school in possession of an offensive weapon.

***Inc; reports across the borough of multiple visitors to properties, groups playing football and reports of store with staff members not wearing face coverings or social distancing, as well as customers.

****Inc; suspect car drives into close and male driver gets out and tries different vehicle door handles unsuccessfully as they were locked and then drives off (Chobham), vehicle was scratched all along drivers side overnight (Chobham), vehicle broken into at Longacres and tools stolen - Makita impact driver drill with charger and 2 batteries, reciprocating saw and radio (Bagshot), suspects have gained entry to vehicle parked in Longacres and have stolen an orange Pomeranian dog and have then made off in a grey Citreon (Bagshot), vehicle stolen from the victim's driveway overnight – without keys being taken. (Camberley), catalytic converter theft from Peugeot HCR10 van (Camberley), whilst parking in staff car park at the hospital rear number plate has been removed from dark grey Toyota Aygo (Frimley), front & rear index plates stolen from white Audi A3 saloon whilst in hospital car park (Frimley).

*****Dispersal zone put in place to provide relief to residents from youth antisocial behaviour and drug use occurring in the Rosewood Way green area (West End).

******Inc; small wraps of possibly class A drugs (white powder) found on floor in Frimley High Street and no owner nearby and sent for destruction (Frimley),  stop of vehicle and the driver and passenger arrested for possession with intent to supply (Camberley), Section 23 missuse of drugs act search following vehicle stop. Trace amount of cannabis located in vehicle and sent for destruction (Chobham), two suspect males found with small amount of cannabis (West End), male was stopped whilst driving and following a search cocaine and cannabis was located - suspect tested positive for cannabis and cocaine and was arrested for drug driving (Frimley).

*******Victim grabbed by two males and had what they believed to be a knife held to the throat. Victim was told to take off jacket and give up property (Frimley).
