Theft of Vehicle - Fenby Avenue BD4

Alert message sent 11/11/2020 14:55:00

Information sent on behalf of West Yorkshire Police

Dear Citizen,

Between 8th and 10th November 2020, victim’s car was parked and locked on the street. Unknown suspect (s) approached the car and gained entry by unknown means and made off with the car unseen.

Theft of vehicle:

* Think about where you park your vehicle? Is it in a safe and well-lit place? If you have a garage at home use it to secure your vehicle in.
* Think about where you keep your car keys at home? Are they on show? Are they within reach of the letterbox? Please ensure your home is secure by locking your door and closing windows.
* If your car has a ‘keyless’ system, keep keys far away from the car to disrupt communication range. Keep the key in a shielded wallet or aluminium tin and use a steering wheel lock for extra protection.
* Is it wise to keep the vehicle running/keys in the ignition when leaving the car for a short period of time?
* Be proactive and keep an eye out for your neighbours.
