Burglary Alert: Main Street, Saxby

A burglary has been reported that took place between 12:00 and 14:45 hours on Tuesday 4th November 2020 at an address on Main Street in the village of Saxby, North Lincolnshire.

Entry was gained by forcing the bottom panel of an external door on the ground floor at the back of the property. If you have any information about this crime contact Humberside Police on telephone number 101 and quote investigation reference number 16/113347/20.

To help prevent becoming a victim of this type of crime yourself REMEMBER:
-Secure your gardens with a fence and lockable gate
-Fix lightweight trellis and spiky planting to the stop of fences to help prevent climbing
-Don't let bushes grow large enough to high burglary from view
-Don't leave tools or ladders in the garden that burglars could utilise
-Fit a dusk to dawn constant garden light and add a motion sensor to warn you of any intruders
-Keep your house and shed/garage doors locked using quality insurance graded locks
-Keep windows either locked shut or locked in a vented position
-Don't leave keys in locks or on display for a burglar to see and use
-Make your home appear occupied. use timer switches to turn on lights
-Don't leave valuables on view through windows, which may tempt a thief
-Look out for your neighbours property, if anyone appears suspicious in the area phone 101
