Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

This Message is Distributed on Behalf of Scottish Gas Networks

As you know, we’ve been upgrading our gas network in the Main Street area of Coatbridge. This project involves us replacing our existing gas mains and services in the area with new plastic pipe.

I’m now writing to you with details of the second stage of our project which will commence on 9 November and last until approximately 31 March 2021.  On Monday 9 November, we’ll be working in Sunnyside Road starting outside number 54 and progressing eastbound. To ensure everyone’s safety whilst we carry out our work, we will  install temporary two-way traffic lights on Sunnyside Road, increasing to three-way lights when we reach each junction. Our project will be carried out by our contractor UIC on our behalf.

Please note, we will be pausing our work from 1 December 2020 until  4 January 2021 on any road which is affected by the roadworks embargo over the festive period.

We have extra safety precautions in place to protect our colleagues and our communities from the virus. Our colleagues will be keeping to social distancing guidelines on our sites and we’d ask communities to keep their distance too. There’s more information about our coronavirus response on our website: sgn.co.uk/coronavirus

We’re writing to other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work. Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project.

If you have any other enquiries about this project, please call project manager David Black on 07773 545 328 during office hours (8am to 4.30pm) or Customer Service on 0800 912 1700 outside these times.
