Residential Burglary and other Crime Report 02 November 2020

Information sent on behalf of Surrey Police


Dear Surrey Heath members.
 
Please find below details of the currently reported burglaries (or attempted burglaries) to residential properties (including shed break-ins) as well as other crime statistics over the last period (26 Oct – 02 Nov 2020). Summary details of these are provided in the list below.
Please note, where known I have used the approximate actual incident date/times rather than date the incident was reported (as there can be differences).
 
Camberley
  • 28 Oct (18:16-19:28). Maultway North. Entry gained to rear sliding patio door by smashing the glass. Untidy search of property stealing watch and jewellery.
 
Frimley
  • 26 Oct (15:40-17:50). Hawkswood Avenue. Residential burglary at a detached house. Where an untidy search carried out in spare bedroom and master bedroom and possible search of loft space. Entry appeared to be through the sliding French doors and exit likely through the back kitchen door.
 
Frimley Green
  • 30 Oct (16:00) – 01 Nov (13:30). Clifton Gardens. Attempted burglary. Rear double glazing doors were damaged - outer panes completely smashed. However no entry gained.
 
Lightwater
  • 27 Oct (22:00) – 28 Oct (08:00). Ivy Drive. Entry gained to the garage and item stolen.
 
To provide a further idea of the activities of the Surrey Heath Police team, there were 152 new incidents/occurrences being looked into during this period. A summary of these is given below along with some accompanying notes later;

Notes:
*Inc; owner has come back from work to find driver’s side window has been smashed (Bagshot), theft of catalytic converter from Toyota Ausris Hybrid whilst in car park (Windlesham), window smashed in vehicle during attempt to steal contents (Windlesham), Landrover Defender stolen from driveway overnight (Camberley), male has approached vehicle parked on driveway at night and tried door handle before leaving (Camberley), theft of Kawasaki Mule transport/laundry buggy from hotel (Bagshot), victim’s vehicle damaged overnight – bodywork scratched and wing mirror smashed (Camberley), male approached vehicle on driveway in early hours of the morning and tried the door handle to gain entry but vehicle secured and male made off (Frimley), catalytic converter stolen from VW Golf which was parked in MOT compound (Camberley).
**Inc; search of  male who had consumed cocaine found small quantity of cannabis (Camberley), investigation of drug dealing at a location (Camberley), person found in possession of cannabis as a passenger in broken down vehicle (Camberley).
***Inc; suspect has convinced victim to transfer £25,000 into another person’s account to assist the bank with their investigation (Chobham),  cloned bank card used to buy goods (Camberley), report of neighbour who has been scammed (Bisley), victim has been targeted by scam claiming to be from their bank (Camberley).
****Person stopped and searched and found in possession of distinctive items which matched the description of an incident in the immediate vicinity (West End).
*****Owner and dog bitten by another dog (Camberley)
******Stop of a stolen vehicle led to arrest for theft of motor vehicle, no insurance, medical revoked licence, fraud adapted number plates, section 5a drug drive and section 4 unfit (Bagshot).
*******Unauthorised Encamp – 1 caravan & 1 vehicle. Have now departed location (Lightwater).
