Fireworks and Animals

Alert message sent 15/10/2020 11:41:00

Information sent on behalf of Lancashire Constabulary

Dear Citizen
Its not just us that are affected by fireworks and the difficulty in stopping young people from obtaining them and behaving in an Antisocial manner is very challenging to police.
Information given to young people through schools and other means isn't always effective.
If parents could also pay close attention to their childrens whereabouts over the next few weeks, this would be very helpful and may prevent the huge problems this brings to our communities and may even save children from serious injuries.
On top of the community problems this may cause, it also has a huge affect on animals. Most animals are terrified by fireworks and some cases kills them through fear.
It is a very worrying time for dogs in particular and there are ways in which you can prepare if you look at the attachment.
I hope you all stay safe.
