Door to Door Caller

Alert message sent 13/10/2020 16:47:00

Information sent on behalf of Staffordshire Police

Just to let you know we have had an incident reported today Tuesday 13th October 2020, where a male aged around 30 has knocked at a resident's address and asked the resident if they would be interested in having a window cleaner. The resident declined but the caller became awkward asking why not, the resident then shut the door on the caller and he was seen walking towards Harriseahead from Newchapel.

This is just a reminder that residents should be vigilant when people call at the door and remember "STOP CHAIN CHECK".

If your unsure of the caller you should always keep them out of your property by using a door chain or talking to them through a window that can be closed easily.

If they refuse or you have concerns please contact the Police immediately using the 999 system.

Kidsgrove Police do have some door chains that can be provided if you require one, please call Staffordshire Police on 101 and ask to be put through to Kidsgrove Neighbourhood Policing Team.
