Increase in Shed and Garage break ins

Alert message sent 27/09/2020 13:20:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Good Afternoon Citizen,

Unfortunately we have had an increase in break ins to sheds and garages across the LEOS area.

We are aware that it is hard to increase security in this area. We advise not to store anything of value in a shed or garage. In a lot of cases that have been reported to us access to gardens has been gained by sliding fence panels up.  If you have slotted concrete fence posts with fence panels that slide into them please consider installing brackets to secure the panels. These special clips can be purchased from garden centres, hardware stores and some builders merchants.  They also prevent the noise generated by panels moving in high winds.

You can also purchase shed alarms and flood lights that are activated by movement may be used as a deterrent.

Please report this kind of incident to us so that we can investigate it on your behalf.  You can report crime via using Live Chat, the West Midlands Police website or by dialling 101. Please remember to always dial 999 in an emergency.
