Alert message sent 29/09/2020 11:01:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

The following information is being circulated on behalf of SGN

I’m writing to you to make you aware of our upcoming project to upgrade our gas network in Old Doune Road, Dunblane. This project involves us replacing our existing gas mains and services in the area with new plastic pipe.

Our essential work will ensure your community receives a continued safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come. We’re working closely with Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our project in line with all current coronavirus safety guidance.

We are looking to begin this £210,000 project on Monday, 5 October and it will be carried out in three phases by our contractor, Smart Utilities, working on our behalf.

Phase 1 - Old Doune Road – we estimate this phase, including final reinstatement will take seven weeks. We may require temporary traffic lights on parts of this road due to the current traffic calming measures in place. We don’t envisage having to restrict parking.

Phase 2 – George Street – this phase will commence on 2 November and will take eight weeks to complete including final reinstatement. We may require temporary traffic lights, parking suspensions and footpath closures.

Phase 3 – Roman Way – this final phase will commence on 4 January 2021 and we estimate the works, including the final reinstatement, will be completed in seven weeks. We may require parking suspensions and footpath closures due to the width of this street.

We wish to assure you that our work will progress as quickly as possible and we’ll be doing everything we can to limit delays and disruption.

We have extra safety precautions in place to protect our colleagues and our communities from the virus. Our colleagues will be keeping to social distancing guidelines on our sites and we’d ask communities to keep their distance too. There’s more information about our coronavirus response on our website: sgn.co.uk/coronavirus

We’re writing to residents and other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work. Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project.

Thank you in advance for your support.
