This Message is Distributed on Behalf of Scottish Gas Networks

I’m writing to you to make you aware of our upcoming project to upgrade our gas network in Carnbroe Road, Coatbridge. This project involves us replacing our existing gas mains and services in the area with new plastic pipe.

Our essential work will ensure your community receives a continued safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come. We’re working closely with Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our project in line with all current coronavirus safety guidance.

We’re looking to start work in Carnbroe Road on 24 August and our project will last approximately four weeks. Our project will be carried out by our contractor Smart Utilities on our behalf.

Phase One – approx. 1 week
On Monday 24 August we’ll be working Carnbroe Road at its junction with Sykeside Road, Sykeside Street and Paddock Street. To ensure everyone’s safety, we’ll install temporary three-way traffic lights at this junction.

Phase Two – approx. 1 week
From Monday 31 August, we’ll be working in Carnbroe Road at the roundabout with Paddock Street and Laxford Place. To ensure everyone’s safety, we’ll install temporary four- way traffic lights at the roundabout.

Phase Three – approx. 1 week
From Monday 7 September, we’ll be working in Carnbroe Road at its junction with Calderview Avenue and Kirkton Crescent. Again, we’ll install temporary four-way traffic lights at this junction.

Phase Four – approx. 1 week
From Monday 14 September we’ll be working in Carnbroe Road at its junction with Calderview Avenue. We’ll install temporary three-way traffic lights to complete our work at this junction.

During phases two and four, bus stop closures will be required however, temporary bus stops will be in place during these times.

We have extra safety precautions in place to protect our colleagues and our communities from the virus. Our colleagues will be keeping to social distancing guidelines on our sites and we’d ask communities to keep their distance too. There’s more information about our coronavirus response on our website: sgn.co.uk/coronavirus
