Alert message sent 17/08/2020 08:49:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

This Message is Distributed on Behalf of Scottish Gas Networks

I’m writing to you with an update on our project to upgrade our gas network in Main Street, Plains.

Following government advice back in March, we needed to make changes to our ways of working to protect our colleagues and communities from the spread of coronavirus. As a result, we temporarily paused our network upgrade project in your community. As lockdown restrictions now begin to ease in Scotland, we’re looking to resume our work shortly.

We will restart work in Main Street on 17 August and our project will last approximately four weeks .This work will be carried out by our contractor Smart Utilities on our behalf.

On 17 August we’ll be working in Main Street, Plains between Northburn Street and Bruce Street. To ensure everyone’s safety, we may have to install temporary two or three-way traffic lights.

We’re working closely with Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our project in line with all expert coronavirus guidance. We have extra safety precautions in place to protect our colleagues and our communities while we work. There’s more information about our coronavirus response on our website: sgn.co.uk/coronavirus

We’re writing to residents and other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work. Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project.

If you have any other enquiries about this project, please call one of our project managers Ross Radley on 07495 214 635 or Jim Brown on 07773 545 321during office hours (8am to 4.30pm) or Customer Service on 0800 912 1700 outside these times.
