Alert message sent 12/08/2020 12:22:00

Information sent on behalf of Lancashire Constabulary

Dear Citizen

Shortly after 11pm we had reports of gun shots on Avenue Parade. Upon attendance we found a white BMW with damage consistent with a shotgun discharge. We suspect that a motorcycle was involved
Fortunately no person was injured, and an investigation is now underway.

Please be reassured as a local resident that we have increased police patrols in the area and are treating this as a specific isolated incident at this time.

Incidents like this are extremely rare in Lancashire but we acknowledge that they will rightly cause the public concern.

If you have CCTV can you please check this for any suspicious activity or if you saw or heard anything please contact the police police on 101 quoting log 1970 of August 11th or independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
