Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Good evening all,

This set of shifts your team have;

On Thursday the 6th August officers have seized a stolen vehicle from up the Delves which was stolen from Handsworth in Birmingham which has been returned to its owner. We have then provided community reassurance through Chuckery and Palfrey whilst being on foot and cycle patrols.

On Friday the 7th of august we have been looking for some footage of an incident that occurred on the Broadway which we have recorded it and uploaded it to our systems. We have also spoken to someone who had been involved in possible fraud with suspicious packages coming to the address and advised and reassured them. Officers have then attended an address in relation to a theft and provided them with reassurance. Throughout the day the team were on foot patrols in Chuckery, Delves and Palfrey where we engaged with residents enjoying the sunshine.

On Saturday the 8th of August due to members of the community complaining about Anti –social behaviour we have put up signs that let the youths know that we’re monitoring the area. We have also issued a section 59 anti-social behaviour warning letter to a young man for driving a vehicle in a reckless manner; we have also followed up an investigation from a hit and run where we have contacted properties for some evidential footage relating to the incident.

On Sunday the 9th of August we went on an area search for a 4 year old male who was then found by officers, we have then followed up on an a possible assault that occurred early hours of the morning, after  a short break, from there we have then reacted to a call where a male had been seen with a machete up his sleeve where we have conducted an area search following a description given from a member of the public, we then went to a job where there was a suspected stabbing at a party in Walsall town centre where firearm and response officers were also required. In addition we then assisted the St Matthews team in seizing a vehicle in Caldmore for no insurance, MOT, or tax (the driver also didn’t have a license). Throughout the shift we have conducted cycle patrols on the canal towpath in Park Hall after recent intelligence of off-road motor vehicles using it as a cut through.

On Monday the 10th of August we have been on foot patrol in Park hall where there has been reports that off-road bikes have been going up and down the canal towpath causing distress to the residents in the area, we have also came across an assault in Palfrey Park which we have dealt with accordingly, we have also been on cycle patrols through Park Hall providing community reassurance in the area.

On Tuesday the 11th of August we have given a member of the community a bunch of alarms for their property to improve her crime prevention equipment; we have also seized some stolen good from Blackpool this evening with one under arrest for handling stolen goods. We have then discovered a cannabis factory with 60 plants growing in the loft which we have seized and dismantled.
