Alert message sent 07/08/2020 15:09:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Bedfordshire Police is urging members of the public visiting its Enquiry Offices to wear a face covering.

This, along with maintaining a social distance where possible, will help prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus when people are indoors and potentially in close proximity with each other.

Some of our Enquiry Offices remain closed, whilst the operating hours of Kempston HQ and Luton Police Station have recently changed and are both now open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

T/Superintendent Ian Taylor said: “The decision to ask members of the public to wear a face covering when visiting our Enquiry Offices is to help maintain the health and safety of our staff, and visitors.

“We know that there may be some occasions that at times, such as an emergency, that people may not have a face covering with them and therefore in this situation, our staff will be able to provide one.

“We would also encourage people who would like to get in touch with the police, that they can do online through the force’s website or online webchat. Please only call if you really need to.”

You can also reach Customer Support Team by emailing them on customersupport@bedfordshire.pnn.police.uk.

In case of an emergency or if a crime is still in progress always call 999.
