Update - Gas network upgrade in Croftfoot area of Glasgow

Alert message sent 30/07/2020 14:38:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

The following information is being circulated on behalf of SGN

I’m writing to you with an update on our project to upgrade our gas network in the Croftfoot area of Glasgow. This project involves us replacing our existing gas mains and services in the area with new plastic pipe.

As you know, we started stage one of our project on 1 July with non-customer intrusive work taking place. On 5 August, we’ll continue our work in the Croftfoot area, in the highlighted areas below:

Our contractor JT Construction will be carrying out this project on our behalf and will last for approximately 52 weeks.

For this stage however, we may need to enter residents homes to upgrade their gas supply as part of this project. This will depend on where gas pipes and meters are located. We’ll also need to temporarily interrupt gas supplies and will provide five working days’ notice to residents beforehand. Before we’re due to arrive at their home, customers will be asked if anyone in the property is registered on the Priority Service Register, has been diagnosed with coronavirus or is self-isolating or shielding.

Whilst we are carrying out our work, it may be necessary to apply give and take traffic management measures or install temporary traffic lights where required. Parking may also be restricted in places

We’re working closely with Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our project in line with all current coronavirus safety guidance. We have extra safety precautions in place to protect our colleagues and our communities from the virus. Our colleagues will be keeping to social distancing guidelines on our sites and we’d ask communities to keep their distance too. There’s more information about our coronavirus response on our website: sgn.co.uk/coronavirus

We’re writing to residents and other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work and we’ll also be posting regular updates on our website https://one.network/?116215164 and using social media and traffic bulletins to keep residents and motorists informed.

Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project.

If you have any other enquiries about this project, please call 07831 730 597 during office hours (8am to 4.30pm) or email customer@sgn.co.uk outside these times.

Thank you in advance for your support.
