Update from your local police team

Alert message sent 10/07/2020 23:41:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

We've been re-connecting with our community this week through pop-up PCSO surgeries and plans for more Streetwatch Patrols.  Following reports of speeding on Brownfield Road, lots of residents have said they'd like to work with us to solve the problem so we've created 'Brownfield Road Streetwatch Team'.  These volunteers will also learn to conduct Community Speedwatch operations on their road.  I look forward to the training sessions next week.  If you'd like to work with us on these kind of projects on your road, please let us know!

We have a new Sergeant on the team - Sergeant Goldsmith has joined us from the Met Police and has brought lots of new ideas and enthusiasm to the team.  We welcome him and look forward to introducing him to our very active and supportive community.

There has been a slight increase in burglaries across the ward.  We are working hard with other departments to understand the issue and reduce these incidents.  We're supporting victims and offering crime reduction advice at our community surgeries.  Please be vigilant and keep doors and windows locked when you're out, consider external lighting and deterrents like steering wheel disc-locks or a pop-up bollard if you have a high value car on the drive.

We are still providing high visibility reassurance patrols in key areas to ensure people are being sensible and safe since some lockdown measures were lifted.  We are also working with local partners and businesses to support safe opening.  Please continue to be alert and sensible when out and about.

Have a great weekend, take care and stay safe
