Unlicensed music event warning

Alert message sent 26/06/2020 17:06:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

In light of an increased national concern about unlicensed events taking place, we want to remind people, especially those in the county’s rural communities, to be alert to any suspicious activity.

We are asking for your help in remaining vigilant, and to report any sightings of vans, lorries or large numbers of vehicles gathering in the area.

Please report any activity that looks like scouting for possible venues, and let us know if you, or anyone else you know, has been approached looking for land to hire or occupy, even if the activity appears genuine.

Care should also be taken to ensure that property entrances are secure.

Contact us if you notice the following:
  • Posters or messages advertising a rave or similar event
  • Cropped bolts on a gate or other security installation
  • People in cars or vans stopping to look into a field, or climbing over a fence into a field
  • Flattened or disturbed hedgerows
  • Anyone acting suspiciously
Members of the public can report suspicious activity online at www.bedfordshire.police.uk or by calling 101.
