Good Afternoon, Somersham District Members –

St Ives Road, Somersham – CCTV recorded pictures of two males stealing a red cast-iron post-box from outside a house on St Ives Road, Somersham, on Sunday morning, 21st June. The suspects drove up in a silver van, stopped outside the property, pulled up the post-box and its pedestal, loaded them into the van and drove off in the direction of St Ives. (Ref 35/40283/20)

Grange Road, Somersham – Thieves attempted to break into a Transit van that was left parked outside its owners house on Grange Road, Somersham, at some time overnight on Saturday 20th / Sunday 21st June. The offenders tried to drill through the lock on the side door, but fortunately were unable to open it and nothing was stolen. (Ref 35/40301/20)

Parkhall Road, Somersham – Police received a report of on-going anti-social behaviour by a group of teenagers gathered outside a community building on Parkhall Road, Somersham, late on Tuesday evening, 23rd June. The group were being loud, revving engines, shouting, smoking and drinking. The incident has been passed to the Neighbourhood Policing Team for them to be aware. (Ref CC-23062020-0606)

And Finally – A Warning About the Disused RAF Upwood Site:

Demolition has now begun on the disused RAF Upwood base and the company doing the work is asking everyone to keep out, as the site is extremely dangerous. New warning signs and fences have been put up but people, including children, have been ignoring them and venturing onto the site. This is extremely dangerous and trespassers run great risk of injury or worse – for your own safety, everyone should keep out.
