Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

Another positive update.

A third teenager has been arrested today in connection with a double shooting in the Bulwell and Top Valley areas.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and remains in custody.

It follows the arrests made last night of another 17-year-old boy, on suspicion of wounding with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and a 19-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender.

These two suspects were detained after warrants were executed at properties in Ranskill Gardens, Top Valley, and Mulberry Gardens, Bulwell.

The arrests relate to a report of a double shooting in the Bulwell and Top Valley areas at around midnight on the evening of Tuesday 16 June 2020.

Two men were taken to hospital for treatment for single gunshot wounds to their legs after Nottinghamshire Police was called to Hucknall Road.

Both victims were subsequently discharged from hospital after receiving treatment for injuries that were neither life-threatening or life-altering.

The incident is believed to have happened inside a black Audi A8, which was recovered at the scene.
Detective Inspector Danny Johnstone, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are pleased to have made these arrests as part of our ongoing investigation but we are still working hard to establish what happened that evening.
“We understand that incidents like these are very concerning for the public but we are working tirelessly to piece together the circumstances of these incidents.
“Anyone with any information or dashcam footage that could aid us in their investigation should still make contact with us.
“The two suspects remain in police custody for questioning.”

Anyone with any information about the incident or those involved is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 912 of Tuesday 16 June.

Alternatively, information can be passed onto the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
