Warm Weather - A Few Things to Consider

Alert message sent 24/06/2020 11:01:00

Information sent on behalf of West Yorkshire Police

Good morning,

The weather over the next few days is forecast to be a hot one, so we wanted to make you aware of a few things to consider.
  • Burglaries can often increase during the spring and summer months, when burglars look to take advantage of doors and windows being left open. However, taking simple measures such as locking your doors and windows, not leaving valuables on display and using your house alarm can significantly reduce your chances of being a victim. For more information click here.
  • Never leave your dog alone in a car on a warm day. If you see a dog in distress in a hot car, dial 999. A car can become as hot as an oven very quickly, even when it doesn't feel that warm. When it's 22 degrees, in a car it can reach an unbearable 47 degrees within the hour. For more information click here.
  • Due to the hot weather people may decide to head to places where there is water such as reservoirs, lakes, etc. Please be aware of the risks and dangers when around water. For more information click here.
