Essential Gas Main Replacement - Croftfoot Area - Glasgow

Alert message sent 22/06/2020 13:12:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

This Message is Distributed on Behalf of Scottish Gas Networks.

I’m writing to you to make you aware of our upcoming project to upgrade our gas network in the Croftfoot area of Glasgow.

This project involves us replacing our existing gas mains and services in the area with new plastic pipe. Our essential work will ensure your community receives a continued and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
We’re working closely with Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our project in line with all current coronavirus safety guidance. We shouldn’t need to interrupt gas supplies to homes or businesses, and our engineers won’t be calling at residents’ homes.

We’re looking to start our work on 1 July and this stage of the project will last approximately five weeks.

Phase one – approximately 2 weeks
On 1 July, we’ll begin working in Lugar Place at its junction with Croftend Avenue. During his phase, to ensure everyone’s safety, we’ll install temporary three-way traffic lights at this junction.

Phase two – approximately 3 weeks
From 15 July, we’ll continue working in Lugar Place progressing towards its junction with Kirkconnel Drive. During this phase, we’ll install temporary three-way traffic lights at this junction.

We’ll send further information on this project as we progress.

Our project will be carried out by our contractor JT Construction on our behalf.

We have extra safety precautions in place to protect our colleagues and our communities from the virus. Our colleagues will be keeping to social distancing guidelines on our sites and we’d ask communities to keep their distance too. There’s more information about our coronavirus response on our website: sgn.co.uk/coronavirus

We’re writing to residents and other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work and we’ll also be posting regular updates on our website https://one.network/?116215164
and using social media and traffic bulletins to keep residents and motorists informed.

Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project

If you have any other enquiries about this project, please call 07831 730 597 during office hours (8am to 4.30pm) or Customer Service on 0800 912 1700 outside these times.
