DRUGS: Estimated £60,000 worth of cannabis recovered in Bulwell

Cannabis plants worth an estimated street value of around £60,000 were seized from a property in Bulwell Forest 09/06/2020

Officers from the Bulwell and Bulwell Forest Neighbourhood Policing Teams as well as Nottinghamshire Police’s Drones Unit executed a warrant at a property in Ockerby Street at around 10am this morning and discovered the plants.

Police Sergeant Oliver Vale, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers attended the address and identified that it appeared to have been converted into a cannabis factory. Due to concerns around the safety of the electricity supply at the address officers have forced entry and located several rooms filled with cannabis plants and growing equipment. All safety issues have now been resolved.

“We are always working to combat illegal drug supply as drug dealers prey on the most vulnerable in our society. We have a zero tolerance approach to this form of activity.

“Our communities play an important role in providing us with information on suspicious activity and I would encourage anyone who sees anything suspicious to get in touch with Nottinghamshire Police via 101.

“Despite lockdown, we are operating as usual and this is an example of our ongoing commitment to tackling drug crime. No one has been arrested in connection with the seizure and I would encourage anyone with any information to contact us as soon as possible via 101 quoting incident number 110 of 9 June 2020.”
